Simon Hill | 19 | Straight | Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Anxiety Disorder | Open | Canon
FC: Logan Lerman
It has only been a year since the only family Simon had left died. After a house fire killed his mother, father, and baby sister, he was left all alone. Of course they had life insurance and insurance on their house but Simon had burned through a lot of that trying to get over the emotional pain he was in by dulling it with drugs and alcohol. Though he never got addicted. He wanted to stop with his actions and get straight again, hoping to lose his fears of fire, and move on with his life. Though the police deemed it arson, Simon still feels it’s partially his fault. Like he could have saved his family but they were long dead by the time Simon had awoken and gotten out of the house before anything harmful happened to him.
Erin St. Onch | 16 | Straight | Kleptomaniac, Pyromaniac | Admitted | Cannon/OC
FC: Chloe Moretz
Thrill seeker and adrenalin junkie, of course Erin would be the one with a problem like she has. She gets a certain pleasure from doing bad things, it’s a release in her body that makes her feel warm and fuzzy. She doesn’t care what it is, if she wants it she will take it. If she wants to burn something, there is no hesitation. She plays by her own rules, and doesn’t give a fuck half the time.
Erin has lived on her own, basically, since she was fourteen. Her parents were never really around, and since she was fourteen, they’ve been there even less. They travel a lot, mostly for work. They hire people to take care of her.
The incident that brings Erin to Hillcrest is when she almost burned her house down. She had found out about her father’s love affair with an employee of his. She was so young and beautiful, of course Erin could see why he’d do it. Her father and mother rarely saw each other anymore. The night she found the girl in her parent’s bed with her father, she set fire to the house starting at the living room. Thankfully, the fire had only spread to the hallway before her father had called the fire department.
Britney Vivid | 17 | Bisexual | Psychosis | Open | Cannon
FC: Emily Browning
Ever since her sister had died in a fire she accidentally started, Britney has slowly lost touch with reality. She sees people that aren’t really there and hears voices that no one else can hear. She hurts the people who want to help her, not consciously. It’s as if she has somebody else there to blame but it’s really her. She isn’t trusting of most people and finds it hard to get close to anyone. She keeps her distance but once she lets somebody close to her, she’s completely different. She gets attached, some would say creepily obsessive.
Jake Madison | 19 | Straight | Borderline Personality Disorder, Possibility of Depression | Open | Cannon
FC: Paul “Kevin” Jonas
Jake is a tough guy, not as in physical appearance more as emotionally. He doesn’t let random negative comments effect him like others would. No matter how much he brushes off the negative comments, he has random break downs, feeling at an ultimate low. He doesn’t like to think that he’s depressed or anything but his mood swings would like to differ. He’s never been diagnosed with depression and has seen numerous therapists. They all deny it. He is somewhat shy and timid at first but he’ll warm up to you in no time
Roxanne Kingsley | 17 | Straight | Drug Abuse | Open | Canon
FC: Mary-Kate Olsen
Roxanne is kind of a Jesus freak. She isn’t bible thumping, to each his own, but she definitely incorporates the lord in her daily life. She’s all for having fun, partying, and getting high. She’s not the smartest girl around, her logic is a bit off whack. She’s more of street smart rather than book smart, she seems to only make sense or sound philosophical while she’s high. She failed out of her senior year and decided to take a year away from school to straighten herself out which is how she got stuck at Hillcrest.
Alec Mercer | 19 | Pansexual | Bulimia Nervosa, Obesophobia | Open | Canon
FC: Hunter Parrish
For the most part of his life, Alec never had any confidence problems. He didn’t think there was anything wrong with him at all. It wasn’t until he turned 16 that his problems started. He was a smaller kid, didn’t have much muscle mass at all. He started with sports, working out for hours a few days a week to build his muscle. He hates gaining weight that wasn’t muscle, he watched what he ate very carefully. When people hear he’s got bulimia, they’d think he throws up after binging, but it’s quite the opposite. After he eats, he simply works out to get rid of the weight. Some would say he’s obsessed.
Nathan Mouse | 18 | Straight | Sadistic Personality Disorder | Admitted | Canon
FC: Caleb Laundry Jones
Nathan picked up on the negligent attitude of his older brother and developed his own lazy sarcasm while he was still quite young. It is a trait that has often landed him in a spot of trouble, especially with his mother.
He’s got a slow way talking, like he has all the time in the world. It’s the same with his movements, languid. And he’s never without a small sardonic smile. Even in anger, the satirical twist of his lips is present.
Contradicting to his stress-free personality, Nathan’s childhood environment was like an anxiety warzone. Both of his parents were struggling with student loans. At the time, his mother was still attending med school and his father was pushing for a promotion at his law firm. Despite all this, Nathan remained a calm and unconcerned child. He seemed unaffected by the emotional chaos.
However, at night Nathan would dream. The visions that passed across his sleeping brain were filled with bright flashes of blood. Warm blood rained from serrated metal skies. Rotting corpses, limps torn from their torsos and weaved together to form a blackened carpet, littered the landscape. He found relief there, in that callous dreamland that he did not fully remember come dawn.
In his early teenage years, Nathan began sketching the bits of dream he remembered. They were gory and disturbed and filled with death and decay. Nathan kept them in a leather folder, alongside the dark poems he tried his hand at.
By eighteen he’d become obsessed with old gore films. He became to fantasize about inflicting pain on others: watching them writhe under his knives and fists until they forgot everything else. Until the pain washed away who they were. He didn’t act on it, not until he’d forgone a few nights of sleep for drinking and drugs with the few friends he had. He’d been without his dreams – which as it were, hadn’t been helping – and it caused a build up of uncomfortable knots in the pit of his stomach.
He was sitting in algebra when the epiphany found him. Sure there was rules against violence, social and moral and legal … but they didn’t matter to him. They didn’t apply. And so he grabbed the boy next to him and pummed him until his knuckles split and his blood smeared with pulp that he was making of his peers face. He only stopped when the other students managed to drag him off
Zachary Cooke | 18 | Straight | Nymphomaniac | Open | Cannon
FC: Chad Michael Murray
Zachary grew up in foster homes, they weren’t always the best places but they were approved by the state and that’s all that mattered to the foster care system. They sought it as a roof over the minors head, clothes on their backs, and food in their stomaches, so why bother if it’s less than exceptional.
When Zachary was 11, that’s when the abuse began. It wasn’t like any normal abuse, it was different. It just was not stuff a child of his age should be learning. His foster parent’s brother took him under his wing, taught him everything he knows now. He would teach him how to treat woman; very poorly, as if they were objects and not people… sex objects. He lost his virginity at a young age, slept with multiple girls every week. He’s cocky and believes he can get any girl he wants, he would play them. Make them believe they are what he wants and once he gets them in his bed, he drops them and moves on to the next.
Michelle Murray | 20 | Straight | Abuse Victim | Open | Canon
FC: Amanda Seyfried
Growing up, Michelle wasn’t always the quiet girl. She never stepped out of place and always listened to her parents orders. But she was just a little kid so of course she had some mishaps. Now, that hasn’t changed over the years. In fact, she got worse. She grew to become the quiet girl she is now. She’s mainly afraid that if she speaks, she’ll get beaten. Same if she does something wrong.
Her parents were not the people everyone thought they were. In public you couldn’t hardly tell they were abusive. They were subtle at best, only smacking Michelle up behind closed doors. She didn’t even have to do anything wrong to get a good smack across the face. They were quite good at keeping it hidden, never leaving a mark. And if there ever was a mark, they blamed it on outdoor child play. But as the years went on, the more Michelle struggled, the harder it was to keep the marks off her body. She was taken away from her family when she was 12 and put into foster care, but she never stuck with any family fearing they would harm her like her parents did.
The day she hit 18, she was let out into the world to fend for herself. She eventually found a place to stay and got a decent job but her fears made it nearly impossible for her to keep anything straight. Which is how Michelle ended up at Hillcrest.
Leonard “Leo” Rownds | 18 | Straight | Drug Addiction | Open | Cannon
FC: Joseph Gordon Levitt
Leo will do anything for a fix, absolutely anything. He doesn’t care as long as he gets what he wants. He will suffer through any torture, go through any pain, physical endurance, or anything sexual. None of it matters to him, all that matters is the drug he can get. That’s the problem, he’s so young and he’s so desperate. His parents were sick of his troubles, even though he’s considered an adult; the courts said rehab or jail. He said Hillcrest, thinking it was a rehab- in some ways it is.
Victoria Bartlett | 17 | Bisexual | Anorexia, Bulimia, Egocentric | Admitted | Canon
FC: Freya Mavor
Victoria, commonly likes to be called Tori. But prefers just her closest friends to call her that. She’d rather be more formal to those she doesn’t know, always introducing herself as Victoria. She’s the arrogant and ignorant type, believes everything she says and does is right and takes her word over anything anyone else says. She likes to think she has no weaknesses but she really does, her eating disorder. She doesn’t like to talk about it to anyone and refuses to tell people that’s why she’s at Hillcrest. She always manages to dodge the question, most of the time with another question almost always about the person she is talking to. Most would call her mean, she’s not a bitch that’s for sure. She just has a lot of snide, sarcastic remarks.
*Please read what egocentrism is before applying.
Ryan Payne | 17 | Straight | Alcoholic, Choice Mute | Open | Cannon
FC: Chace Crawford
Ryan is an observer, he rarely talks. When he does, it’s because he’s got something important to say. If he does talk to you, consider yourself lucky, It probably means he thinks you are special, there’s something about you that makes you stand out from the rest and he likes it. He’s been like that for most of his life. His drinking came into play when he turned 15, it wasn’t anything unusual. At least that’s what he thought. His family was apart of a high society in Manhattan, New York. He’d have his occasional celebratory drink at weddings, graduations, parties, those sorts of events. He never considered himself an alcoholic until about a month prior to coming to Hillcrest.
Melissa Cambridge | 17 | Straight | Depression | Admitted | Cannon
FC: Dianna Agron
Melissa had everything, she was head cheerleader. She dated the quarterback and the line back of the football team
of course not at once. She had money, friends, popularity. She seemed to be perfect. When she was 16, she had a daughter. Just as she was turning 17, her daughter had passed away. Melissa wasn’t a bad mother, she took full responsibility for her daughter, never did anything bad or got into any trouble. She managed her daughter, school, and work all at once. Her daughter was in the care of a babysitter one day, while she was at work. The babysitter left the room for a few moments and when she came back, Melissa’s daughter was on the floor not breathing. It turned out she had swallowed something and choked. When she found out exactly what happened, she sued the babysitter and fell into a deep depression.
Morrison Calder | 17 | Bi-curious | Depression, ‘attempt at suicide, and murder’ | Admitted | Cannon
FC: Ezra Miller
Morrison is a very sweet kid, he’s shy, but not to the point that makes his socially awkward. He likes to laugh, and have fun, just as any teenager would. At 15, his mother died of a drug overdose, leaving him with his father and younger sister. He became terribly depressed, but still hung around, and acted completely fine in front of his friends. It was like nothing was wrong with him at all, except that everything was wrong, and nothing was right.
He couldn’t take this deep sadness within himself, something had to be done about it. Something had to end, or at least that’s what he felt. He figured that if his mother had to die, he should die, and he should take some people with him. If not that, just himself would do.
At school one day, he had his revolver tucked safely inside his backpack. All the rounds were put into the gun, all exept for one. If the missing bullet didn’t fire into his head, he would shoot as many people as he could in the room. In the middle of 3rd period, he pulled out the gun, holding it up to his chin, and hearing only one click. He flashed open his eyes, time almost going in slow motion. A near by class mate ten times the size or Morris had taken the gun from the boy, causing him to faint in the middle of the class.
He woke up that night in the hospital, his father to the side of him. That’s the moment when Hillcrest came up.
On his bad days, he can seem like a completely different person. He becomes evil, and talks a lot about harming others, or himself. He apologizes though, he doesn’t mean it. Or does he?
Emmeline Deluca | 21 | Straight | Depression, Self harm | Admitted | OC
FC: Sophia Bush
Emmeline use to be that girl that was always happy, filled with joy every moment of the day, you could never catch her with a frown. She was pretty talented too, some called her a prodigy when it came to dancing. To top all the great things in her life, she even had the greatest best friend a girl could ever have, Mirella Jove Vedette, who she was pretty much inseparable with since birth. She was the happiest girl alive. That was until the day both her parents were killed in a brutal car accident, trying to make it to one of her ballet recitals, both of them killed immediately at the scene. It’s been killing her for years that she was the cause of their death, that she was the reason they died. That took a lot out of a fourteen year old. After their funeral, that’s when it started to sink in for her, and that’s when her depression started to appear and rear it’s ugly head. She would talk less at school, push her friends away, doing anything to be alone… but Mirella stuck around while everyone gave up and left her. Soon after losing every friend she had but one, well that’s when the self-harm started kicking in, the burning and cutting. Of course, Mirella would come to the rescue and stop her for awhile and it would only start up just soon after. Eventually, her aunt had enough of her depression, and left, leaving her in the hands of a foster home, seeing as none of her other family wanted anything to do with her either. She still tried to look on the bright side though, because she still had something good in her life, Mirella. Unfortunately, a week or two later, Emily was given the news that she was being moved into a new foster home, one truly far from her home in Italy to one located in California. As the years passed along, Emily found that her depression never got better, even when she turned 21, legal age. Through the years, she was passed down from foster home to foster home, her foster moms finding it hard to deal with a depressed child while having forty others to deal with. Due to this, Emily has a problem with trusting people and is scared to get close to others. Now she’s seeking help at Hillcrest, hoping they can help her like the many therapists she visited couldn’t.
